Cyprus signs Protocol for Personnel safety

Cyprus has signed the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly on 8th December 2005.

According to an official press release, the protocol is additional to the Convention and can be interpreted in combination with the 1994 Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel.

Cyprus is legally bound by the 1994 Convention since its ratification on 1st July 2003.
