Cyprus to host European Civil Aviation Conference

The Republic of Cyprus will pay host to the 56th Conference of the European Civil Aviation Committee that will take place next year with the participation of 42 countries.

Director of the Cyprus Civil Aviation Department Leonidas Leonidou told CNA that the Conference will be held end of August – beginning of September 2007, with the participation of 42 Directors of European Civil Aviation Departments, and the Directors of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) and Eurocontrol.

The European Commission will also be represented at the Conference.

Leonidou said that the decision to host the Conference in Cyprus is ‘a great honour,’ adding that Turkey will be among the participant countries.
