Christis secures UNIFIL contract

Christis Dairies Pcl (CDL) announced that it has secured the contract to supply the UN peacekeeping force now organized for Lebanon.

Christis, which for many years has been a steady supplier to the UN forces operating in Cyprus has now also secured additional work to supply the UN force in Lebanon, which eventually will number at least 15.000.

The company said it has already started supply of fresh pasteurized milk and yogurt. The supply will continue on a regular basis at least until the year-end. The company however, did not indicate the value of the contract and if it will have an impact on 2006 results. The until recently majority owner of Christis, the Shacolas Group is involved in negotiations to sell its controlling stake in the company to Delta of Greece.
