Cyprus Finance Minister to attend ECOFIN meeting

Cyprus Finance Minister Michalis Sarris will attend the Informal ECOFIN Meeting to be held September 8-9 in Helsinki, Finland.

According to an EU Presidency press release, the meeting will discuss a range of issues including the current state of global economy and the outlook for the future, the stability of financial markets and the institutional development of the International Monetary Fund.

The ministers will also consider ways to remove barriers to the global competitiveness environment and promote risk financing and the use of innovations in business.

The meeting will be hosted by Finnish Minister of Finance Eero Heinaeluoma. Participants will include not only the relevant ministers but also the President of the European Central Bank, the Governors of national central banks and Commission representatives.
