The Republic of Cyprus Electricity Authority of Cyprus will continue to supply Turkish Cypriots with electricity, folowing a meeting this week between representatives of EAC and Turkish Cypriots.

Following the meeting, the EAC will provide northern Cyprus with 20 megawatt electricity for May from the 66,000 watt lines in the Orounta area.

Turkish Cypriots requested power from the government of Cyprus in January after an explosion at their main power plant in Kyrenia.

EAC Spokesman Costas Gavrielides said that Turkish Cypriots will receive power as long as they need it.

The Turkish Cypriot side has so far paid CYP 2.19 mln for power supplied since February.
