The Cyprus government will actively encourage Indian IT firms which want to invest in the Techbology Park that will be built in the Limassol region and some firms have already shown interest, according to the Commerce Minister George Lillikas speaking during the official visit to India last week.

Noting that India is “a pioneer in the area of information technology”, Lillikas said “Some Indian companies have shown interest to come to Cyprus. And we are committed to send them our proposals. There is will for cooperation in the area of research and technology.”

Lilllikas added that Cyprus and India could develop research programmes in the framework of the Technology Park.

Lillikas noted that the Indian firms can also make use of EU funding programmes.
