Unemployment rate at 4.3% in February

The unemployment rate in February 2006 increased to 4.3% of the labour force, unchanged compared to January 2006, the Statistical Service announced. In absolute terms, the average number of unemployed persons for February 2006 reached 15,294 persons, 56 persons more than the number registered in January 2006. In comparison with February 2005, a decrease of 3,107 unemployed persons was recorded which was primarily attributed to the sector of hotels and restaurants.
