Cyprus building permits rise by 10.3% in 2005

The Statistical Service CYSTAT has announced that the number of building permits authorised by the municipal authorities and the district administration offices during December 2005 stood at 860.

The total value of these permits reached CYP 114.7 mln and the total area 287.3 thousand square metres. These building permits provide for the construction of 1,527 dwelling units.

During the period January-December 2005, 9,098 building permits were issued, registering an increase of 10.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The total value of these permits increased by 14.8% and the total area by 13.3%. Τhe number of dwelling units showed a rise of 19.2%.
