New Dell laptop with widescreen display

Computer maker Dell has added a new laptop with a widescreen display to its product line. The Inspiron 1300 comes standard with a 14.1-inch display, the company reports. The unit offers 30 per cent more image area than traditional XGA displays.

The broad screen enhances the playback of DVDs, as well as the process of viewing and editing photos. The Inspiron 1300 comes delivered with 512 megabytes of RAM, a 40-gigabyte hard drive, and an Intel 910 GML chip set. It costs under 700 dollars in its base configuration. (dpa)
