Nokia is about to unveil a new family of cell phones. The Nokia E60, Nokia E61, and Nokia E70 are the first three “Smartphones” in the new E series.

Aimed primarily at business users, the phones use the UMTS and WLAN standards and also support business-pertinent e-mail solutions like BlackBerry Connect and Seven Mobile mail.

The phones rely upon Symbian OS 9.1 as their operating system. The Smartphones also offer Bluetooth and USB 2.0 interfaces.

Nokia reports that the phones support Internet telephony (Voice- over-IP), push-to-talk, and further SIP based telephone services. The devices will likely hit the market in the first quarter of 2006.

The manufacturer has not yet announced prices. (dpa)
