Pantech, a leading Korea-based mobile communications group, has unveiled its premium “Slim-Series” of handsets, as the latest stage in the ongoing expansion of its global scope of operations.

The Slim-Series, which will initially be launched next month in Russia and subsequently in other global markets, is composed of the PG-1400, PG-1500, PG-3500 and PG-3600 models.

Sung-Kyu Lee, President & CEO, Pantech Co., said: “The handsets have been built to incorporate essential multi-functional applications and features, without compromising on super slim exteriors and lightweight durability”.

Pantech is focused on further expanding its premium image in key markets, such as Russia, where it dominates the high-tier handset sector with 8% market share. As part of the growth of the brand name, Pantech plans to ramp up its sales and marketing presence across Europe, South America, China, India, and the Middle East over the coming months.

The PG-1500 handset is a light, yet stylishly designed, GSM tri-band clamshell phone, which features a wide 1.8 inch 65K color LCD screen and a 64 polyphonic ringtone and MP3 ringtone. Likewise, the clamshell PG-3500 phone and the PG-3600, a slider model, both feature a diverse range of functions within a slim handset, typifying the emphasis of the Slim-Series on ensuring optimal functionality within a compact frame.

Both the PG-3500 and PG-3600 phones include a 1.3 Mega Pixels CMOS Camera, MPEG 4 camcorder, and MP3 player supported by external memory, as well as Bluetooth/USB and WAP 2.0/JAVA technology, and 64 polyphonic ring tones.
