Cyprus industrial output declines in June

Industrial output declined in June, registering a 1.6% fall compared with the same month of 2004.

All but three categories declined year on year. Within the manufacturing sector, output of food, beverages and tobacco stood out by increasing 3.2% year on year, while output of wood and wood products inchned up by 0.1%.

Total manufacturing output fell by 3.3% year on year.

Outside manufacturing, output of electricity, gas and water rose by a strong 5.8% year on year, reflecting perhaps rising numbers of people who can afford to install air-conditioning.
