The Consumer Price Index for August 2005 increased by 0,85 units or 0,71% to 120,59 units compared to 119,74 in July 2005. This is mainly due to increases in the prices of certain fresh fruit and vegetables, pork, fresh milk, petroleum products and electricity.

The rate of increase of the Index for August 2005 compared to August 2004 was 2,11%, while for the period January-August 2005 the CPI recorded an increase of 2,48% compared to the corresponding period of 2004.
