Christis improves first half results

Christis Dairies Public Ltd. (CDL) reported an improved first half performance on the back of higher sales and cost containment. Total turnover increased 6.6% to CYP 11.96 mln in the first half of 2005 compared to CYP 11.22 mln a year ago. Gross profit margin was 21.9% in the H1’05 compared to 21.7% a year ago in the same period. Total expenses were flat at CYP 2.37 mln compared to CYP 2.35 a year ago, helping lift operating profits to CYP 249.583 from CYP 89.697 previously.

Net after tax profit amounted to CYP 64.842 compared to net losses of CYP 115.199 a year ago in the first half. Earnings per share were 0.12 cent compared to loss per share of 0.21 a year ago.
