Luxury car maker Jaguar has appointed Cyprus Premium Automobiles as its new distributor in Cyprus from May 1.

CPA, part of the Pilakoutas Group, will also have a new custom-built home in Kaimakli, that will also house the other non-BMW marques such as Land Rover and MG.

Charalambos Pilakoutas, the Group’s chief executive, told a press gathering to inaugurate CPA’s operations, that “both divisions are ion competition and the only thing they have in common is me.”

The Kaimakli property, previously housing the Pilakoutas British Car Imports (BCI) division, is to undergo a complete refurbishment in time for the showroom’s official opening in late September or early October.

“We are proud to present the full range Jaguar premium cars, starting from the popular X-Type and leading up to the flagship XJS,” Pilakoutas said.

The entry-level X-Type that comes fully loaded with all the trimmings and accessories one expects of a Jaguar, has an introductory price tag of CYP 22,700.

Company officials said the transition from Jaguar’s previous distributor, the Shacolas Group, was smooth with all parts already transferred to Cyprus Premium Automobiles stores, while new parts and accessories have already been shipped from the U.K.
