BOC trades ex-dividend, drags CSE lower

Bank of Cyprus (BOC) fell 5 cents on Thursday after the stock went ex-dividend for the 4 cent per share dividend that will be paid to registered shareholders by end of May, while the shares of Laiki Bank (CPB) broke through 1.45 resistance, closing 3 cent firmer at CYP 1.46.

BOC closed at CYP 1.75 per share from CYP 1.80 previously as the stock traded ex-dividend for the 4 cent per share dividend declared for 2004. The drop was mainly responsible for shedding 1.08% from the Main and Parallel index and 0.50% off the GENX, which ended at 85.45 points.

Total volume amounted to CYP 541.000 on 568 trades, with 29 titles closing higher, 22 lower, 22 unchanged while 99 titles saw no activity.
