New Vaio notebook from Sony

Sony has introduced a new notebook in its Vaio line. The Vaio VGN-S4M wears a silver, magnesium shell, includes a GeForce graphic card from NVIDIA, and boasts a 13.3-inch active-matrix display, according to the Japanese manufacturer.

The new Vaio weighs in at only 1.9 kilogrammes and sports a Pentium M. processor rated at 1.6 GHz, as well as 512 MB of RAM. The built-in Intel Centrino technology takes care of the wireless networking.

The VGN-S4M comes standard with a 60 GB hard drive. A built-in optical drive can burn both CDs and double-layer DVDs. The new Vaio is expected to appear at the retail level in June. (dpa)
