Exports leap 55% in January

Total exports/ dispatches for January 2005 increased by 55.2% and were valued at CYP 44.3 mln, compared with CYP 28.5 mln in January 2004, according to preliminary data from the Statistical Service CYSTAT.

Of this export total, CYP 29.9 mln were dispatches to other Member States of E.U. and CYP 14.4 mln exports to third countries.

Meanwhile, total imports/arrivals for January 2005 expanded by 7.7% and amounted to CYP 190.6 mln, compared to CYP 176.9 mln in January 2004.

Of this import total CYP 128.1 mln were arrivals from other Member States of E.U. and CYP 62.5 mln imports from third countries.
