Car registrations up 11.7% year on year

The total registrations of motor vehicles increased by 11.7% year on year to 8,171 in January – February 2005, from 7,313 in January – February 2004.

Private Saloon cars increased to 6,802 from 5,983 in January – February 2004, i.e. there was an increase of 13.7%.

Car demand has been boosted by a cut in excise duties which took effect at the end of 2003.
