Harmonised inflation falls to 2.4%

The harmonised consumer price index (HICP) for February 2005 recorded an increase of 2.4% compared to the corresponding month of February 2004, compared with 2.8% year on year in January.

This was slightly higher than consumer price inflation in February, which reached 2.4% in the same month.

On a month-on-month basis, harmonised prices fell again, by 0.4%. communications prices recorded the largest month-on-month fall of 8.5%, while health prices recorded the largest increase, albeit only by 0.9% compared with January.
