Cyprus trade deficit rises to CYP 1.1 bln in May

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly report “Intra-Extra E.U. Trade Statistics (Summarised Data)” for May 2007.

The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were was follows.

Total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other member states) in January-May 2007 amounted to CYP 1,405.0 mln compared with CYP 1,302.3 mln in January-May 2006.

Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States) in January-May 2007 reached CYP 275.4 mln, compared with CYP 291.3 mln in January-May 2006.

The trade deficit was CYP 1,129.7 mln in January-May 2007 compared with CYP 1,011.1 mln in January-May 2006.

During May 2007 total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States) reached CYP 299.7 mln.

Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States), including stores and provisions, in May 2007 amounted to CYP 59.8 mln.

Εxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, reached CYP 31.1 mln and exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, reached CYP 28.7 mln.
