Cyprus joins World Breastfeeding Guinness record attempt

Cyprus is joining the World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) awareness campaign that is spanning along 120 countries this week.

The worldwide synchronized breastfeeding campaign aims at emphasizing the importance of breastfeeding for mother and child.

In statements to the Cyprus News Agency, one of the coordinators in Cyprus and Head of the Akti Project and Research Centre, Kyriaki Demetriou, said that thousands of mothers worldwide will breastfeed their children simultaneously on Wednesday in the framework of the WBW.

She added that the event will begin in Nicosia with a speech by Minister of Health Costas Kadis, followed by the worldwide simultaneous breastfeeding which aims at breaking the previous Guinness World Record.
