PwC, Intercollege conference on business and environment

PricewaterhouseCoopers and their Chair in Applied Accounting Research at Intercollege are organising a conference on “Business and Environment: Sustainability through responsibility”, on Thursday, July 5 from 4pm at the Cine Studio, Intercollege.

The conference will open with an address by the Executive Director of Intercollege, Dr Nicos Peristianis. An introduction to the conference will be made by the CEO of PricewaterhouseCoopers Cyprus, Phidias Pilides and by the Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources & Environment, Photis Photiou.

The keynote speakers will be the Commissioner for the Environment, Charalambos Theopemptou, Professor Adele Thomas, University of Johannesburg, and Tassos Procopiou, board member of PwC Cyprus, Advisory Services.

During the seminar, Professor Maria Krambia Kapardis will present the findings of the specialised quantitative survey carried out by the PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Chair in Applied Accounting Research at Intercollege, which recorded the opinions of more than 200 large organisations in Cyprus about the environment.

The conference will close with the documentary film “An Inconvenient Truth” by Al Gore, former US Vice President.
