Italian award for OEV Cyprus president

The Italian Ambassador to Cyprus, Luigi Napolitano, has bestowed the title of “Commendore dell’ Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana” to the president of Employers Federation of Cyprus (OEV), Dr. Andreas Pittas.

The ceremony took place during a reception held at the ambassador’s residence on the occasion of the national day of Italy attended by President Tassos Papadopoulos, House President demetris Christofias, Archbishop Chrysostomos II, government officials, MPs and businesspeople.

The ambassador said that the award was given in recognition of Dr. Pittas’ long-term contribution towards the improvement of industrial, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

The president of OEV responded by saying that Italy and Cyprus have historically had close relations in all fields, and his wish was that these ties would improve even further in the future.
