American Greeks visit Cyprus and Greece

A delegation of the American Hellenic Institute (AHI) will visit Nicosia and Athens from June 4-June 15, 2007, aiming to advance and project AHI goals and objectives in Greece and Cyprus.

The delegation will be led by AHI President and founder Gene Rossides and AHI Executive Director Nick Larigakis and will include other members of the Institute’s Advisory Committee.

The delegation will have meetings in Nicosia from June 4 – 8 and then proceed to Athens, staying there from June 11- 15.

According to an AHI statement, the delegation is scheduled to meet with government officials and business leaders in both countries to discuss cooperation and issues of mutual concern.

In addition, AHI will hold its 3rd annual Athens Hellenic Heritage Achievement and National Public Service Awards Gala Dinner on June 13, in Athens.

The 2007 honorees are two individuals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields of endeavor, Anna Synodinou-Marinaki, and Lazaros D. Efraimoglou, President, Foundation of the Hellenic World. There will be special greetings by Theodoros Kassimis, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Charles Ries, US Ambassador to Greece.
