Cyprus NPLs drop marginally to €830 mln

Non-performing loans in Cyprus remained almost unchanged at €830 mln in April, dropping marginally from the previous month and slightly below end-2025 levels.

According to the Central Bank of Cyprus monthly report, the NPL ratio of the island’s banking sector remained at 1.6%, unchanged from the end of March and December 2025.

NPLs dropped to €830 mln, from €835 mln in March and €839 mln as at the end of December 2025. At the same time, total deposits and advances also dropped to €51.035 bln, from €51.346 bln in March and €52.142 bln in December 2025.

As a result, the coverage ratio of NPLs with provisions increased to 62.9% at the end of April from 62.7% at the end of March.

Total restructured loans at the end of April amounted to €752 mln, from €777 mln in March and €824 mln at the end of 2025, out of which loans of €319 mln continue to be classified as NPLs, marginally down from €320 mln in March and €323 mln in December 2025.
