USRobotics recently launched its Ndx Wireless Product Family at CEBIT in Germany. The product family uses USRobotics’ Ndx wireless technology to deliver data throughput up to the equivalent of 270 Mbps bandwidth performance and range up to five times greater than standard 802.11g products.

“Our Ndx products deliver upon the commitment USRobotics made to ship products that will interoperate with products from other vendors and behave correctly when in close proximity to legacy 802.11b/g networks,” says Steven D. Dalrymple, USRobotics’ CEO.

Compliant with the IEEE 802.11n Draft 1.0 standard for wireless networking products, the Ndx family is compatible with previous wireless standards and products, including those meeting the 802.11b and 802.11g standards, USRobotics’ own MAXg wireless product family, and other accelerated wireless technologies.

“Most people can’t afford to throw away a kit that is perhaps only one or two years old, but they still want to buy the latest and greatest products. By providing a new range with support for MAXg, the customer can transition over a period of time to the new technology and have the best of both worlds. MAXg long life and the gradual move to new technology,” says Tony Field EMEA Product Marketing Manager.

The Ndx family features five products aimed at advanced consumers and small- and medium-sized businesses looking for secure, flexible, and high performance wireless networking. Each of the products will be available in May at retailers and e-tailers throughout Europe and the Middle East.

USRobotics’ Ndx technology offers enhanced range, with five times greater range than standard 802.11g wireless products, and performance of up to 270 Mbps.

SureStart Installation Wizard allows for seamless installation of the Ndx product family and assists with security configuration for networks. SecureEZSetup provides users with one button or one click security set up, ensuring networks and data are locked down.

The product family’s enhanced security features include MAC Address Authentication, Disable SSID Broadcast, and an advanced SPI firewall in the Router and ADSL2+ Gateway, plus Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2)/802.11i, Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), 802.1x Authentication, and 64/128-bit WEP encryption on all the products.
