Cypriot House President meets with Syrian President

Cypriot House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias met on Monday morning in Damascus with Syrian President Bushar Al Assad, in the context of an official visit at the invitation of his Syrian counterpart Mahmoud Al Abrash.
During the meeting, they discussed the situation in Cyprus and the Middle East, as well as bilateral relations.
Christofias said the meeting was very friendly and constructive, and that they agreed the two countries should continue to support each other and express their solidarity in the new global environment.
