The “Challenge of Change” conference

PricewaterhouseCoopers, Performa Consulting and the Ministry of Finance are organising a conference on Thursday, October 19, at the Hilton Park, Nicosia about creativity and innovation in organisations.

The conference, entitled “Challenge of Change”, will examine the process of creativity in organisations, teams and individuals.

The presentations will aim to demonstrate why creativity is indispensable for survival in a highly competitive environment and incite ideas on how to promote creativity and innovation in organisations. The delegates will gain insights into practical aspects of creativity, such as brainstorming and effective teamwork as well as exploring its cultural aspects such as leadership style and organisational climate.

A big part of the conference will be spent on interactive workshops of participants’ choice. 

An impressive parade of speakers both from Cyprus and abroad will analyse the creativity processes, tips and strategies as well as present the audience with examples of creative organisations from the local and international market.

Paul Sloane, a thought-provoking, entertaining and motivational speaker is a well known author of 15 books on lateral puzzles and creative problem solving and lateral leadership. He will examine the role of the leader in creative teams and run a workshop on how to run a perfect brainstorm. He says: “Most leaders recognize the need for innovation, but don’t know how to do it. Innovation is not a matter of improvement; it is a matter of survival.”

Linda Caller is an international speaker on creativity around the world with a vast experience in marketing, brand and communications strategy development. She maintains that “We need to bring creativity into thinking.  In everything we do.”  She will lead a workshop on branding and address the issue of how organisations can be guided into creative thinking so that they can produce more innovative solutions on a regular basis.

Oliver MacDonald will lead a rhythmic session as a means to create insightful experiences that focus on the creative potential of the individual and the group. In his workshop, MacDonald will introduce the elements for a creative climate including risk taking and learning from failure.

Dimis Michaelides, founder and director of Perfoma Consulting, will explore the meaning of creativity and innovation in organisations and its various components in practice and lead a workshop on creative teambuilding.

Philippos Soseilos, board member of PricewaterhouseCoopers Cyprus, will present his reflections on the Blue Ocean Strategy conceived by professors Kim and Mauborgne.
