Cyprus exports tumble in July

Total exports/dispatches reached CYP 52.0 mln in July, according to preliminary estimates, recording a fall of 11.4% on July 2005. On a year-to-date basis, total exports fell by a smaller 1.5%.

In the same month total imports/arrivals reached CYP 246.7 mln, a rise of 3.0% compared with July 2005. On a year-to-date basis, total imports rose by 17.1%. Almost 70% of total imports (CYP 172.2 mln) came from the EU, while CYP 74.5 mln came from outside the EU.

Almost two-thirds of total exports (CYP 34.3 mln) were sent to the EU, while CYP 17.7 mln were exported to third countries.
