Bank of Cyprus shares trading on the ASE closed at EUR 7.40 or CYP 4.25 for a loss of 4.4% Tuesday on exceptionally high volume of 8.6 mln shares for a value of CYP 37 mln, well below the close of CYP 4.32 on the CSE on Tuesday.

The fact that BOC shares in Athens dived 4.4% on Tuesday, well in excess of the 0.99% decline of the ASE General Index was seen as highly negative, possible indicating heavy losses for the CSE when trading starts on Wednesday.

The CSE GENX ended 0.05% lower on Tuesday at 2678.61 points on total volume of CYP 6.15 mln, with BOC the most active, closing 0.47% higher at CYP 4.32 on total volume of CYP 2.46 mln. Laiki shares followed next, down 1.5% on the day at CYP 2.56 and total volume of CYP 1.53 mln while Hellenic Bank, ended 0.91% lower at CYP 1.09 on CYP 680.000 volume.
