AIPFE Cyprus-Women of Europe organised its annual end-of-year event on January 18 in Nicosia where the guest speaker and AIPFE member, Christina O’Neill shared her experience on ‘Climbing Kilimanjaro’ and spoke about ‘our thoughts as our reality creators.’ The event marked the launch of AIPFE’s female empowerment series, #IncredibleWomen.

Having climbed an altitude of 5,895 meters in an effort to raise money for ‘Breast Cancer Now’ Christina’s journey was testament that every single step carried a priceless story and lesson learnt.
“Our thoughts are our reality creators,” she reiterated with a smile. “Your body ‘listens’ and responds to your thoughts,” she added, explaining that thoughts of love, support and gratitude, charge the body. Christina explained that climbing an altitude where the scarcity of oxygen coupled with -10C, takes your breath away, is a lesson that what you resist, persists.
“Embrace and accept what you do not like, contemplate on what it has taught you, and you will evidently see it with a different perspective.”
AIPFE President Anna Koukkides-Procopiou alluded to a phenomenal 2016, adding that the association has for the past 16 years been acting as a platform of opportunity, participation and networking in the arenas of civil society, politics, business and academia in Cyprus and abroad, for women of all ages. She also announced, amongst other landmark collaborations, an educational scholarship programme for unemployed women under the age of 35, in association with Ernst & Young Cyprus.
“We considered 2016 an activity-packed year, only now we realise that 2017 will be even more interesting,” she concluded.
