CYPRUS: Leadership change at EY, Stavros Pantzaris at the helm

Stavros Pantzaris (left) is taking over as the Country Managing Partner of EY Cyprus as from July 1, succeeding Andreas Demetriou who is retiring after a professional career of over three decades. Demetriou will continue to provide his services to EY as an advisor to Cyprus and the Southeast Europe region.


Pantzaris joined EY Cyprus (then Ernst & Young) as a manager in 1994 and joined the partnership in 1998. Since 2013 he has been leading the Assurance Services division.
“Over the last few years and despite the very difficult economic conditions in the local market, EY Cyprus has experienced rapid growth, particularly in the area of financial and business advisory services. We have laid the foundations and set ambitious goals for further significant growth,” said outgoing managing partner Demetriou.
As regards his new leadership role at the helm of EY Cyprus, Pantzaris stated: “Having exceptional client service always at the centre of what we do and being ready and alert to exploit the opportunities offered in a constantly changing economic environment, we intend to continue investing in human capital aiming to further enrich the range of services offered to our clients”.
During his professional career Stavros Pantzaris has been active in assurance services with both local and multinational corporations. He has also been involved in providing advisory services, including due diligence projects. He holds a B.Eng. (Hons) degree in Engineering with Industrial Management and is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA) and a board member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC).
