The American Academy Nicosia organizes the 'International Day' an intercultural festival, open to both parents and children, in a space flooded with colors, music, dances, as well as flavors from more than 10 countries.
The event will be held in the school’s yard on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 4:15 pm. This is an annual event organized by students and school teachers in order to highlight the different habits and customs of various cultures through dance, song and theater and stress the importance of supporting and maintaining cultural diversity.
During the event students from different countries aged 3 to 18 will present a theatrical play entitled 'The World Is Yours', which promises to present the different aspects of various cultures such as customs, arts, family lives or social interactions and ultimately the value of intercultural dialogue.
The event will include a section with ’International Country Tables’, kindly organized by the Parents Teachers Association, where guests will be able to try traditional foods. Also, there would be lots of fun and game activities for the children.
The 'International Day' of the American Academy Nicosia reflects the school’s philosophy of promoting the elimination of discrimination and exclusion and the integration of foreign students in the school environment by offering them the same opportunities while considering particularities – social and cultural – of these children.
