The Health Ministry has prepared a special action plan to address any possible cases of Ebola hemorrhagic fever, that will be implemented if and when the need arises, an official press release said on Wednesday, underlining at the same time that there is no reason to worry.

The press release noted that the Health Ministry has already sent the Foreign Ministry a travel advice that will be published. As it is noted, travellers to and from countries of Western Africa influenced by Ebola are advised to be careful and not to come into contact with blood, secretions and other body fluids or tissues of patients or dead people, or with medical equipment that might be polluted or with alive or dead animals.

The Ministry assured the public that there is no reason to worry, noting that according to the latest risk assessment by the European Centre for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, the risk of transferring the virus to EU countries is minor.

It also noted that it has an Action Plan to address crises and emergency situations, that will be activated if and when there is the need to do so.
