UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades to maintain the current momentum in Cyprus talks, following the February resumption of full-fledged negotiations, a UN Spokesperson said.
It was added that they agreed on the importance of implementing mutual confidence-building measures on the island.

Referring to the meeting between the two men, on Wednesday, in Brussels, the Spokesperson said that they discussed the current state of play and the way forward in the talks for a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus issue.
“The Secretary-General stressed his continued personal attention and the United Nations’ commitment to assisting the sides in reaching a comprehensive settlement in Cyprus” the Spokesperson concluded.
