The Cyprus State Fairs Authority has announced that the 38th Cyprus International Trade Fair 2013, which was initially scheduled to be held from the 24th of May until the 2nd of June 2013, will eventually take place from the 4th of October until the 9th of October 2003.

The Cyprus State Fairs Authority said in an announcement issued here today that it made the decision to change the date of the Fair “weighing up the current situation of the Cyprus’ economy and after consulting with the business and industrial community of the country and exchanging views with the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism."

The Authority said that the aim of the International Trade Fair since its establishment was to support trade market of the country and highlight the opportunities and prospects of the economy, adding that these goals remain unchanged until today.

According to the announcement, the current economic conditions and the request submitted by too many traditional exhibitors to move up the date of the Fair so that they are given the opportunity to get prepared and make the necessary orders and customs` clearance of their products, which were delayed especially this year, led the Authority to take this decision.

The objective of the Authority, it is added, is to organize fairs which would promote the image of the Cypriot economy abroad.

The Authority expressed its apology for any possible inconvenience caused to exhibitors, expressing that the same time its confidence that the change of the date would benefit all involved.
