easyJet, the UK's largest airline, is this week launching its latest recruitment drive seeking up to 20 recent graduates or students graduating summer 2013 to join its European Graduate Programme.
The airline is looking for highly motivated individuals, who are keen to gain varied and invaluable experience working for one of Europe's leading airlines which flies 58m passengers on more than 600 routes. Advertising for the roles has now launched with successful applicants commencing their permanent roles in October 2013.
The two year programme offers opportunities for graduates across a wide range of departments from Operations, Finance and Project Management areas to IT, Commercial, Marketing and Human Resources.
Alita Benson, HR Director for easyJet, commented: "At easyJet we are committed to investing in, and providing opportunities for, recent graduates –something which we feel is particularly important in today's tough economic environment. We’re looking for a group of exceptional individuals who not only have an excellent academic record but also the drive to really make the most of everything the scheme has to offer.”
The scheme means that the graduates can learn from industry-leading professionals, tackle business-critical projects and gain opportunities to build a network of contacts throughout easyJet’s operations. They are also provided with support from a dedicated mentor. In its first year the European Graduate Programme has been voted by graduates as one of the top companies for graduates to work for coming 35th in The JobCrowd’s 2012/2013 survey.
easyJet has been running the scheme for two years and has 30 graduates from 9 countries in Europe working in the company at present. The scheme sits alongside the airline's apprentice scheme – both are part of easyJet’s wider approach to attracting young people to the airline which currently recruits around 1,000 18 – 25 year olds each year. easyJet is involved with ‘WORKing for YOUth’ in the UK which is a business-led initiative to help improve youth employability.
For those wishing to apply for the Graduate Programme, candidates should submit an application online at http://careers.easyjet.com/graduates/ where there is further information about the programme.
