Cyprus industrial turnover rises 2.8% y/y in August

Industrial turnover rose in August despite the blast in July that knocked out the main power station and led to temporary power cuts.
The Statistical Service reported that the industrial turnover index for August 2011 reached 111.7 (base 2005=100), recording an increase of 2.8% compared with August 2010.
The manufacturing index in August rose by 3.1% compared with August 2010.
For the period January-August 2011 the industrial turnover index rose by 0.5% compared with the same period of the previous year
