Cyprus local credit card accelerates in August

Local credit card spending with cards issued in Cyprus rose by 9% in August to EUR 181 mln, compared with an increased o 6% in July.
For the period January-August, local credit card spending rose by 10% to EUR 1.4 bln.
Spending abroad, which includes internet purchases, rose by 12% to EUR 111 mln, compared with a rise of 11% in July.
In the first eight months of the year spending abroad rose by 12% to EUR 883.8 mln.
Expenditure by tourists in Cyprus rose by 9% in July to EUR 57 mln and by 12% in the first eight months of the year to EUR 381.5 mln
