Cyprus car registrations dive again in June

Registrations of motor vehicles dropped by 24% over the year earlier in June 2011, while registrations of private saloon cars also fell by 24% in the same period.
For the first six months of 2011 total registrations fell by 15.1% to 20,003, from 23,562 vehicles in the same period of 2010.
Private saloon cars decreased by 14.8% to 14,066, from 16,514 in January-June 2010.
Of the private saloon cars total, 7,200 vehicles or 51.2% were new and 6,866 vehicles or 44.8% were used cars.
Goods conveyance vehicles decreased by 34.9% to 2,555 in the first six months of 2011, compared with 3,926 in the same period of 2010.
Light goods vehicles decreased by 36.6% to 2,087, from 3,290 in 2010.
Heavy goods vehicles decreased by 23.9% to 360 in January-June 2011, from 473 in 2010.
Road tractors (units of trailers) decreased by 33.7% to 108 in January-June 2011, from 163 in January-June 2010.
Mopeds of less than 50 cc increased by 1.9% to 268 in January-June 2011, compared with 263 in January-June 2010.
Mechanised cycles of more than 50 cc decreased by 9.2% to 1,378 in 2011, compared with 1,517 in January-June 2010.
