Cypriots take flight in April

The late Easter seems to have booted outbound tourism in April, with the number of residents of Cyprus returning from a trip abroad jumping by 20.6% to reach 110,672 residents compared with 91,737 in April 2010.
Orthodox Easter (and, by chance, western Easter) was celebrated on April 24 in 2011 and April 4 in 2010.
The Statistical Service said that in April 2011 there was an increase of 23.7% in trips of residents to Greece (from 31,536 in April 2010 to 39,017 in April 2011).
There was a 50.8% increase in trips to the United Kingdom (from 19,142 to 28,866 this year).
