Yuan to play major role as reserve currency in future- Van Rompuy

The U.S. dollar will stay an important currency in upcoming decades but huge changes in the world's currency landscape is to be expected, President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy said on Wednesday.

He told a conference that the Chinese yuan will in future play an important role as a global reserve currency.
