Cyprus per capita tourism spend up 2.7% in Q1

Revenue from tourism outperformed arrivals in March, with inflows from tourism rising by 1.3% to EUR 66.4 mln compared with EUR 65.6 mln in the corresponding month of the previous year.
This was a month in which tourism arrivals fell by 4.7% to 98,964.
The same pattern was seen for the whole of the first quarter.
For the period January – March 2011, the Passenger Survey estimates that revenue from tourism rose by 3.1% to EUR 133.1 mln compared with EUR 129.2 mln in the first quarter of 2010.
Total arrivals in the same period rose by only 0.3%.
The average spend per tourist has thus risen by 2.7%, from EUR 630 in the first quarter of 2010 to EUR 647.2 in the first quarter of 2011.
