The Cyprus International Institute of Management reached an important milestone in its near 20 –year history having signed a joint venture agreement for the creation of CIIM Gulf — a branch of business school for the Gulf region, based in Bahrain. The agreement brings together CIIM and prominent Bahrain business partners, who decided to actively benefit their business community by making available to them the world class, cutting edge management education consistently provided by CIIM in the last 19 years.
The CIIM Gulf board of governors is chaired by Dr Theodore Panayotou (CIIM Director), Deputy Chairman Dr Ebrahim Jamal Al Hashemi (former President of the University of Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf University), and Managing Director Jamil Al Alawi ( President of the Bahrain Business Promotion Centre and former Executive Director of the World Water Council in France). Other board members include John Strongylos (member of the CIIM board in Cyprus), Costas Kaloyeros (CIIM CFO) and Dr Mustafa Al Sayed (former Chief Executive of the Bahrain Petroleum Company).
CIIM Gulf will start operations focusing on three main areas: leadership development programmes,
management consulting for private companies and for the public sector, business studies and research projects for private enterprises and the public sector.
The development programmes for young and aspiring managers, the leadership programmes for experienced entrepreneurs and managers, as well as the consulting/mentoring services, which CIIM Gulf will offer, are expected to be greatly in demand among the business community in Bahrain and other countries in the region.
