Cyprus tourism revenue falls 14.8% in July

Revenue from tourism in Cyprus reached EUR 232.5 mln in July 2009 compared with EUR 272.9 mln in the corresponding month of the previous year, according to the Passenger Survey conducted by the Statistical Service.
Revenue thus fell by 14.8% over the year earlier. Tourism arrivals in the same month fell by 11.2%.
For the period January – July 2009 revenue from tourism is estimated at EUR 798.3 mln, a fall of 15.5% compared with the EUR 944.8 mln recorded in the corresponding period of 2008.
