Eight new cases of H1N1 flu confirmed in Cyprus

Eight new cases of H1N1 flu have been confirmed in Cyprus during the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of confirmed case to 117, the Health Ministry announced on Monday.

According to a press release, six of the new cases concern Cypriots.

So far 254 persons with flu symptoms have been subjected to laboratory tests and 117 of them have been diagnosed with the virus.

The Health Ministry said the flow of incidents is fully monitored and there is no cause for concern.

Furthermore it notes that despite the fact that the new flu has taken a pandemic dimension and the number of cases is expected to increase, the symptoms of the flu remain mild.
