EIB Vice-President will pay an official visit to Cyprus

Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Ploutarchos Sakellaris will pay an official visit to Cyprus January 22 and 23, 2009.

During his stay in Cyprus, Sakellaris will hold separate meeting with Finance Minister and other Ministers, during which an evaluation of the progress of the projects funded by the EIB will take place, and the financing of new development projects will be planned.

On the occasion of Sakellaris' visit, the Finance Ministry will organize on Friday in cooperation with EIB a conference on ''Cooperation of the European Investment Bank with Commercial Banks in financing SMEs in Cyprus''.

The conference is aiming at expanding the potentials of cooperation between EIB and Cyprus banks, taking into consideration the current
global financial crisis.
