Moody’s reviews the Cypriot economy

Α delegation of the international Moody's rating agency, which carries out financial monitoring and analysis on commercial and government organisations, holds a one-day visit to Cyprus for the regular review and assessment of the latest developments in the Cyprus economy.

A press release issued by the Cyprus Central Bank says the delegation met today with CB Governor Athanasios Orphanides, with whom they discussed the economic situation in Cyprus in relation to the international developments.

The meeting covered the strong inflationary pressures currently recorded in Cyprus as well as their sources, both internal and external, as well as the available ways to tackle them as well as their upgraded role in monetary policy and the importance of the control of public expenditure.

The Moody's delegation held meetings with Central Bank and Finance Ministry's official with whom they discussed the macroeconomic and monetary developments and the broader prospects of the Cypriot economy.
