Christodoulides travels to Germany

President Nikos Christoulides will hold talks on Thursday with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin to discuss more active EU involvement in the Cyprus peace process and bilateral and international affairs.

The Presidency said that Christodoulides will pay a working visit to Germany on May 24 and 25, during which he will hold talks with the German Chancellor.

President Christodoulides will depart for Frankfurt on May 24 to attend the ceremony for the 25th anniversary of the European Central Bank.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, he will meet ECB President Christine Lagarde.

He will also attend a dinner hosted by Lagarde for heads of state or government and other officials at the ceremony.

On May 25, President Christodoulides will be in Berlin, where the Chancellor of Germany will receive him.

Christodoulides and Scholz will have a tete-a-tete meeting followed by extended talks between the two countries’ delegations.

The agenda will include developments in the Cyprus issue, the proposal of President Christodoulides for more active involvement of the EU in the solution efforts, bilateral relations, and issues related to the European agenda.

Before departing, Christodoulides will visit the Denkmal Holocaust Memorial.
